Jane Wyndham

Andy Blundell

Minister

Worship Director

Jane is the Minster here at Stock, she is married to our resident drummer John-Paul, and together they run a hairdressing Salon in Hornchurch. Jane is passionate about helping the community and bringing people into the church. She is the best dressed minister you will ever meet! You may recognise her from her appearance on Master Chef.

Andy looks after all things musical and technical.  When he has a rare day off from his job as a teacher, he can usually be found working on his daughter and new son-in-law's house.  When not working or DIY-ing, Andy can be found playing bass in his function band or in his garage, with a strong coffee in hand, listening to P G Wodehouse.

Nigel Davey

John Ward

Elder / Treasurer

Elder

Nigel is one of out elders and also looks after the church finances. He has lived in Stock, with his wife Ruth, since retiring from a successful career as an Accountant in the City.  He has been an elder at Stock for over 10 years and is keen on music and racquet sports. He is also the undefeated champion of Rooted Youth Group table tennis tournament.

Born in South Africa, John has lived in Stock with his wife, Anne, for over 30 years. Previously a lawyer in central London, his recent retirement has afforded him the opportunity to fulfil a dream of establishing a meadow in his garden and travel more frequently to visit his grandchildren overseas. Beside gardening, John loves surfing and water sports.

Penny Champion

Katy Smith

Deacon / Secretary / Safeguarding

Safeguarding Lead / Rooted Youth

Penny is the organisational force behind everything that happens here at Stock! Her endless talents in cooking, sewing, and knitting make our church building feel homely and welcoming.  Beside all these hobbies, during the week, Penny works as a senior midwife. Penny and her husband Steve have two grown up daughters who are just as talented!

Katy can normally be found working on any one of her many projects. She has followed in her Dad's footsteps and has a great love for music and playing musical instruments.  Katy is a trained nurse and has a heart for helping families in need. She is our safeguarding lead, and, together with her husband Nathan, look after the youth work.

Nicki Blundell

Nathan Smith

Alternative Services

Rooted Youth

Nicki keeps herself busy making our church more homely and running all our Alternative Services. She has a passion for fun and will always have a flask of tea at the ready!  Nicki is also part of our church band playing the bass and whatever other instruments are available! Nicki is married to Andy and they have three grown up girls together.

Nathan first joined Christ Church, when he met his wife, Katy. Together they oversee the youth work. During working hours, Nathan is a Maritime Civil Engineer - so if you ever need a bridge or pontoon, Nathan's your guy!  He spends most his free time on DIY projects on their new house (with a little help from Andy) and has even tried his hand at preaching!

Planning your Visit

A Warm Hello

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When

We meet at the Church (details here) for our Sunday Service starting at 10.30 am.  There is ample parking to the rear of the building.

When you arrive, you should be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team.

We serve tea, coffee and biscuits after the service. It is a great way to meet people, or simply take time to find your bearings. All refreshments are free.

Accessibility: There is wheelchair access, and a sound loop for anyone who needs it. Please let one of the Welcome Team know on your arrival and they will help you to get set up. There are disabled toilets in the main foyer.

Our Service

The main service begins at 10.30am with a warm welcome from one of our team members. Then follows a time of sung worship, led by our band.  We then share news and notices, usually about what’s going on in the life of the church. One of our leaders will then give a sermon that is bible based and that we can apply to our everyday life. We then finish with a final worship song. Sometimes there is an opportunity to receive prayer at the end of the service.

What about my kids?

Children stay with their parent or grown-up. Our services always include various activities to occupy any children.

Getting Connected

Small Groups

While Sundays are a great way to meet new people, it is often in smaller gatherings that you can really get to know someone. Being part of one of our small groups allows you to make new friends, share together and support each other. We have a variety of groups that meet throughout the week, some afternoons and some evenings. Check out Small Groups and see if there’s one that you could join, or we can put you in touch with a small group leader who will be more than happy to invite you along to their group.

Serving and Volunteering

If you want to get involved in the life of the church and help us make Sundays run smoothly, you can sign up to serve on a team.
