Home groups

We believe that the Sunday ‘service’ is not the purpose of the church but is the occasion when God’s people can re-charge their spiritual batteries for their service for God during the week.

Other such opportunities arise in the thriving home groups which, as the name suggests, are groups of six to ten members of the congregation who worship, study God’s Word and pray together in members’ homes. One of these groups is specifically for teenagers. Many of these groups are long-standing and provide a friendly and secure environment where joys and sorrows can be shared and prayed over in a confidential environment.

The current home groups meet:

  • on Tuesday mornings at 10.00 - 11.30 am in Billericay – main contact is Jane Wyndham
  • on Tuesday evenings at 8.00 pm in Stock – main contact is Nigel Davey.

The home groups meet most weeks, but in the week in which the first Wednesday of the month falls, when there is a central meeting at the church for communion, reflection and prayer, the groups do not normally meet.
